Mobile Library

There are two mobile libraries that cover most of the rural areas of Angus, many of the villages and some of the town areas which are some distance from the local library.  The two mobile library vehicles visit the villages and rural communities of Angus on a fixed timetable permitting either weekly or fortnightly visits.  Newtyle has a mobile library visit the village alternate weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

Week 1: Tuesday 13:30 – 15:30 (Church Street)

Week 2: Wednesday 13:30 – 14:30 (Newtyle Primary School) and 14:30 – 15:30 (Church Street)

Each specially designed vehicle has a stock of approximately 5000 books and through the request system to the entire stock of the library service. There is no charge for requesting books in stock through the mobile service. The mobile libraries also offer a small selection of audio books.

Anyone wishing to use the service should complete a registration form and show two proofs of identity.
