Toddlers Group

Newtyle and District Toddlers Group.

We are delighted to welcome you along to our weekly parent and toddlers group. The group has been running for a number of years and we have a steady number of families attending from the village and surrounding area. Our main aim is to provide our babies and toddlers with the chance to socialise and play in a safe, stimulating environment. In addition to this our meetings also allow parents and carers to meet and chat with others and relax with a coffee. The children are offered a healthy snack each week and we have a range of toys and activities to suit all ages. After a successful quiz night we have started the term with exciting new resources for snack and play time.

  • Monday mornings 9:30 – 11:30 in the Legion Hall
  • £2 per child over 10 months

For further information please call Kathryn Dunbar 01382 320387, Hannah Brome 01828 650395 or Sandra Meikle 01382 581245.

Snack and Tidy Time

Every day is different with wee ones and as we all know some days we can have children hanging off our legs and not get anything done! For this reason we do not have a snack rota but instead we ask for everyone to take a turn to set up snack, tea, coffee, etc and tidy the hall. Thank you!

Constitution and Policies

We have recently joined the SPPA, the support organisation for preschool groups and childcare providers. We have insurance through the SPPA and have now got a group constitution and policies to which all Parents/carers should be aware of. The constitution will be ‘made official’ at our AGM in March.

Copies of the Constitution and the Policies (Behaviour Management , Outings, Complaints, Health and Safety and Child Protection) are available for your perusal on the Toddler Notice Board in the Legion Hall. Please make yourself familiar with them.

A few months ago we elected office bearers for the posts of chairperson, secretary and treasurer. However the running of the group is by no means determined by these people and we ask for input from all parents and carers who come along to the group to help ensure that we are making it the best experience for our children as we can. Our ‘committee’ includes everyone who comes along and we have meetings approximately 3 times per year.
