A unique opportunity for garden lovers.
Sunday 29th July, 2012, will be a very special day for garden lovers in the Tayside, Perth, Dundee and Angus area. By very kind permission of Nigel Cayzer and his family, Kinpurnie Castle Gardens will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Kinpurnie Castle Garden was developed in 1920’s by Eileen, Lady Cayzer. The garden is a traditional walled Scottish garden. Throughout the year it has magnificent displays of Roses and Herbaceous and all varieties of trees, plants and flowers to delight the eye.
The garden was last opened to the public 20 years ago; with that in mind, it would be a fantastic opportunity for visitors to return and see how 20 years of maturing has shaped the garden.
Nigel Cayzer said, ‘My late uncle, Sir James Cayzer, opened the garden to the public 20 years ago, it was a great success and a wonderful opportunity for us as a family to have people stroll around the gardens and enjoy the views over the countryside. I am hosting the opening in July as a memorial to my uncle, Sir James. He was a staunch supporter of both Maggie’s Centres and Eassie, Nevay & Newtyle Church . All monies raised on the day will be donated to both organisations’
There will be teas and coffees, with home baking available. There will be music and games, produce stalls and plants sales for visitors to enjoy. It will be a fun afternoon for all the family. Entrance to the garden will be £3.00 per adult and £1.50 per child (under 5’s free).
